Draft to Screen In-Person

Draft to Screen is a community-led group for filmmakers, writers, animators, musicians, and artists who want to connect, grow, and find resources to finish their creative work. This group is completely free to join and open to all experience levels. Led by Nabil Sealy alongside co-founder Wilandy Castelin, this group will meet once a month on the first Thursday of each month from 6-7:45 PM. Meetings will feature time for connection and networking, project pitching and a review of the accountability board for those working on projects, and workshops from industry professionals and accomplished creatives.

Drop-ins welcome!

About the co-founders:

Nabil Sealy is a South Florida filmmaker originally from Barbados. His passion for film began in high school when he helped produce a short film for a class project. He went on to study Motion Picture Production at Palm Beach State College, where he connected with a community of passionate filmmakers. Nabil has since produced several short films and worked on a variety of independent productions. In 2022, he was part of the winning team of the 48-Hour Film Competition in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale region.

Wilandy Castelin is a Florida-based filmmaker with Haitian roots. Her storytelling journey began in high school, where a film class gave her the space to turn her ideas into real projects. Though she took a break from filmmaking after college, her passion led her back to the industry through film courses at her local community college and a growing network of creatives. Wilandy’s short film Home has been selected by seven film festivals across the country and is currently streaming on Fancy A Movie, a platform dedicated to showcasing emerging filmmakers.
