Sunday Music Matinee: Roy Connors In-Person
As a member of the 1960'S folk music group, THE HIGHWAYMEN (our Number 1 selling records, Michael, Row the Boat Ashore, In Them Old Cotton Fields Back Home, Gypsy Rover, Whiskey in the Jar), it’s one hour of 1960 folk music called, HOOTENANNY WITH A HIGHWAYMAN. Ir’s a singalong of the songs of the famous folk groups of the 60s - the era in which we remember the groups, the songs - and especially the lyrics. It’s now your time to enjoy and singalong!!!!
Roy Connors and Alan Scharf began their music careers in the early 1960’s, in the heart of Greenwich Village, when the folk music revival was in its infancy. At that time, groups like the Highwaymen; the Kingston Trio; and Peter, Paul &Mary were leading the charge. Although Roy and Alan were not members of the original Highwaymen, they were tapped to continue the Highwaymen legacy by touring the United States, appearing in colleges, universities, and clubs all across the country.
