Sunday Matinee Music Series: Celtic Music with Emily and Kel In-Person
From fast, high-energy jigs and reels to captivating airs, ballads, upbeat songs and sea shanties, Emily Ann Thompson and her husband Kelly Thompson take the audience on a musical and educational journey through the Celtic lands. Emily Ann performs on violin/fiddle while clogging, and sings in
English and Irish Gaelic. Kelly performs on guitar, percussion, and vocals. This program covers a wide range of Celtic music from Ireland, Scotland, and Canada, featuring reels, jigs, hornpipes, polkas, clogs, strathspeys, airs, waltzes, and songs. Interspersed between the music Emily explains the nuances of Celtic music.
