Iconoclast Authors: Jane and Paul Bowles In-Person
Paul and Jane Bowles, both writers, had an unusual marriage, but it was enduring. Their nontraditional relationship allowed them both to express their bisexuality. They led nomadic lives and enjoyed friendships with homosexual writers and composers in New York, Paris, and Tangier. Their mutual encouragement and stimulating conversations also enabled them to thrive in their writing careers.
